Wow, it’s humid.

I can’t say a whole lot more than that. It’s more than a bit oppressive out there. And sticky. Did I mention sticky?

So, on this night where I feel a bit run down and grumpy from the heat and humidity, I appreciate the benefits of a cold shower more than normal. I think I should have just waited until it got hotter to do that experiment, it might have been easier.

And, if you can’t take a cold (or at least a cool) shower, take the time to practice how to clean your teeth properly. As small as it is, I’ve found it makes me feel a bit more human and a bit less grimy and grumpy on days like this.

So, have a lovely evening and hopefully tomorrow is a bit more approachable.

This week, I’ve been experimenting with how to clean your teeth properly.

To see how this week has been going for me so far, check out yesterday’s progress in my experiment on how to clean your teeth properly.

Conclusions

Well, I won’t beat this to death, but it appears I’ve hit a point of diminishing returns. Or, to say it better, a wall where returns no longer increase.

It seems that at the middle point of this experiment, I continued to achieve the level of good feeling that I had achieved, but the benefits of fanatically cleaning my teeth didn’t seem to continue any further.

Does this mean you shouldn’t take care in cleaning your teeth?

Not at all. There are still a whole host of reasons to clean your teeth with all the enthusiasm you can muster. However, what it does mean is that (at least for me) there is a cap on how good clean teeth makes me feel.

So, continue brushing and flossing, but don’t expect it to be the one obstacle between you and happiness!

For the last 6 days, I’ve been experimenting with the impact of how to clean your teeth properly.

To see how this experiment has been going for me so far, check out yesterday’s results in how to clean our teeth properly.

So, the question I need to ask myself is: am I still on that plateau I described yesterday?

Sadly, the answer appears to be yes. While I’m enjoying the feeling of having incredibly clean teeth on a regular basis, it seems that it only contributes a limited amount to my overall well-being.

We shall see if I can break through this plateau before the end of my week!

This week I’ve been testing to see if knowing how to clean your teeth properly, and taking the time to do so, can have an impact on your life (aside from having fewer trips to the dentist).

To see how this experiment has been going for me so far, check out yesterday’s progress in how to clean your teeth properly.

As for the current point in time, I’m wondering if I haven’t hit a ceiling on the benefits offered by this experiment. My teeth are brighter and my mouth feels cleaner, but I haven’t seen much of an improvement in how I feel or how my mouth feels over the last day or so.

Perhaps clean, shiny teeth, and a clean mouth only get you so far towards feeling good and no better?

Does the whole world love you if you smile?

That’s part of what I’m experimenting with in my experiment on how to clean your teeth properly.

To see how this has been going for me so far, check out yesterday’s results in how to clean your teeth properly.

I don’t have a lot to add today other than the fact that I think my teeth have actually lightened a shade already. I’ll post some conclusive statements on this at the end of the experiment, but it’s a nice little mood booster!

Is it narcissism to be falling in love with your own smile?

This week I’ve been working on an experiment about how to clean your teeth properly.

I’ve been brushing my teeth like crazy. To see how the experiment went for me yesterday, check out my previous entry in how to brush your teeth properly.

So, now that you’re caught up, let’s see how things are going currently.

How to Clean your Teeth Properly – Day 3

Well, I can’t yet tell if my teeth have gotten to be a lighter shade, but they clearly are feeling cleaner and looking cleaner.

It’s a challenge to remember to brush after every time I eat. I’m breaking years of bad habits for this week’s experiment, but I’m managing so far!

I can’t wait to see how the rest of this week works out!

If the eyes are the key to your soul, does that make your smile the key to the world around you?

My experiment this week is on how to clean your teeth properly. If you have a clean mouth and a shining smile, will that make the world a nicer place for you, and you a happier person within it?

To see how this experiment started, check out my first day in how to clean your teeth properly.

So, how has it been going for me so far?

How to Clean Your Teeth Properly – Day 2

Well, so far I’m just in the beginning of things, but I’m seeing some fascinating results so far.

Firstly, I’m smiling more. Perhaps I unconsciously avoid smiling when my teeth aren’t feeling clean. I’m not certain why, but it’s an interesting reaction.

Secondly, I’m snacking less. It’s been trained into me since childhood that I shouldn’t eat right after I’ve brushed my teeth. If I’m brushing my teeth 4-5 times per day, my urges to snack are dropped accordingly.

It’s been an interesting two days so far and I look forward to the rest of the experiment!

“You’ll find that life is still worthwhile, if you just smile.” ― Charles Chaplin

Your smile can light up a room, it can open doors, it can be the start of a first impression and the first step of falling in love.

It has an amazing power, but how much love and attention do you give it? I suspect that the ugly truth is that many of us don’t know how to clean our teeth properly!

How to Clean Your Teeth Properly – The Experiment

Oral hygiene has some amazing connections to health. For example, believe it or not, flossing can help you live longer!

For the purposes of this experiment, I’ll be following the Canadian Dental Association guidelines. This means flossing once per day and brushing after every meal.

What do I expect will happen? Well, to start off with, I think I’ll feel a better energy level. Brushing your teeth is one of the great tricks to get a burst of energy without caffeine. I’m not sure if it’s the mint flavour of many toothpastes or the repetitive movements that get blood flowing, but I can’t argue with results!

Just like a shower after you’ve gotten dirty can change your entire mood and energy level, I wonder if having constantly clean teeth can make my week feel better? We shall see!
