Well, it has been a while since I’ve written another happy thoughts list. However, today was one of those days where I got reminded about how fantastic life was and how much I had to be thankful for. So, I think it’s about time again!

Here are my happy thoughts for today:

Awesome friends: They really do make the world go round. I have some incredible friends that help keep me balanced and sane and I love them all.

Happy Surprises: Sometimes, you the waiting list of the universe flips upside down on you and you get things far more quickly and easily than you thought you would. It’s not vital to get things quickly, but it can be a pleasant surprise when you push at what you feel is a wall and find out it’s a door instead!

Twitter: In a busy world, it’s such a simple way to reach out to people who make my life a better place!

Well, I’ll be frank, I’m exhausted. However, it’s a pretty darn good day aside from that.

Just because your day isn’t perfect doesn’t mean you can’t have a happy thought of the day. In fact, a happy thought for the day is even more important on tougher days.

So, with that in mind, here’s my happy thoughts list for the day!

1. Chasing fears until it spits out opportunity: Lately I’ve been facing a few things that I’m scared of. I was facing a choice where I could chase fear or flee it. So far signs are pointing that I’ve made the right choice.

2. Leftover Swiss Chard: I was worried that it would have spoiled, but I have some swiss chard in the fridge that is still good for making baked swiss chard chips!

3. The chance to get to bed early: After this week so far, I need it!

It’s been a while since I’ve posted a happy thoughts list, so I figured it was about time!

1. Simplicity: We live in a Crazy and complicated world. Sometimes though, you get a simple situation that is pure pleasure to solve.

2. Helping People: The happiness experiment that was due to start today got postponed a day so that I could give someone computer help tonight. Well worth it!

3. That moment when you know you’re worth it: everyone deserves moments like this.

Today was a random day off, a carry forward from working over last weekend.

It was a mixed day, but a good one. There are three happy thoughts for the day related to productivity.

1. Just start something: Often, the hardest part about being productive is just getting started. It can be tough, and there’s a lot of resistance to overcome, but once you take that first step, you might find that the rest of whatever you’re doing is easier than you thought!

2. One productive hour can save an entire day: It can be tempting to write off a bad day, but we often overlook the fact that a single good hour can often save an entire day. So, before you give up on your entire day, see if you can set aside a single hour of time, without interruptions. You might be surprised at how much you can do!

3. Value yourself: I recently had someone I respect a lot talk to me about putting a value on my own work and experience. It wasn’t an easy thing to hear, but I needed to hear it. Very few of us are good at this, but you should start by making a list of your skills – you might find out that the job market values your skills more highly than you do!

Today, I could put together a happy thoughts list, but I have one happy thought of the day that I like to focus on.

You might not be able to see him so clearly in the picture, but that’s a little chipmunk sitting in the middle of a driveway. I love spring when you see all the animals come out. It really brings a new sense of live to the world around you.

Keep your eyes open, you might be astonished at all the life you see around you!

I may be sleepy, but I am still smiling, and that calls for a happy thoughts list in my mind.

To date the happy thoughts list is still one of the simplest and most powerful experiments I have done as part of this website, so I plan on continuing to do it, even while other experiments fall by the wayside (eating paleo *cough cough*).

Happy Thoughts List for Today

1. Dinner with friends: A new restaurant with an old friend is a great way to pass an evening.

2. High protein shakes: They’ve made for great breakfasts this week. Anyone know a good place to find cheap whey protein powder? I’m going to run out soon.

3. Getting to a business stop at the perfect moment to catch your bus: It can feel like a mini version of winning the lottery!

Well, I hope your day has been as good as mine!

Busy day, it started slow, but it built momentum. I still haven’t received the happy emails I was hoping for at work *fingers crossed* but I haven’t given up hope.

Every good day deserves a happy thoughts list, so here we go!

Here is my list of happy thoughts for the day!

1. Being able to push myself further: Between hot yoga and my HIIT Training, I’m really giving my body a hard workout these days. But I’m able to push myself further than I was even just a couple of months ago. Three cheers for progress!

2. Hot Yoga: Maybe it’s the heat, but it’s the first kind of yoga in which I can get completely out of my own head and just focus on the movements. That can be a blessing.

3. Turning tough situations into productive ones: I always like ending on a high note.

What were your happy thoughts for the day?

It’s been a while since I’ve posted a happy thoughts list here, but I haven’t stopped doing them.

If you still wonder about the advantages of making one, check out this post on creating a happy thoughts list.

One of the things making me happy today

Today is a beautiful spring day, so it’s quite easy to find three happy thoughts.

The first, as you can see in the picture, flowers are blooming in front of my house, and that is always a thing to be happy about. Even if you’re allergic, they sure do look great!

Secondly, I’m happy about a weekend with friends. While I was busy at home today, I spent yesterday out and about in the city of Toronto, having adventures with people and watching Avengers. If you haven’t seen Avengers yet, I highly recommend it, and if you haven’t gotten out to enjoy some great spring weather yet, I recommend that even more!

Thirdly, I’m happy about getting things done. It’s not 7pm yet, my laundry is done, the dishwasher is about to start, I have a lunch for work tomorrow, and dinner is half made.

I do love a Sunday when everything works out!

Today I’m not in the space to do a full happy thoughts list, but today was a bit of a stressful day, so I’ll content myself with a happy thought for the day as I go off to bed.

My cat.

Pets are amazing. They seem so small and foreign, but they can quickly and easily become a part of all of our lives. When I come home after a long day, my cat rushes down the stairs to see me. I understand this isn’t exactly typical cat behavior all the time, but it’s a treat to have someone excited to see you when you come home.

I come back once again to my happy thoughts list. Honestly, out of all the experiments I’ve done for this blog, I think the happy thoughts list has been the one I’ve identified with the most.

My happy thought of the day list is:

1. Riding the bus: Honestly, I’m really beginning to enjoy it. Don’t get me wrong, I like the convenience of having a car, but I’m reading a LOT more now that I read on the bus, and I like being a person who reads.

2. Reading: Sure, related to the first item, but that’s totally fair game! *grin* I’ve always enjoyed reading, but in this crazy busy world, it’s more easy than ever to not take the time to do the things you enjoy.

3. Eating healthy: Okay, eating unhealthy foods can taste better. But, when you eat healthy, you feel better. There are pluses and minuses to each side of the coin. I like to think that the grass can be green on both sides of the fence for this one!

Have a great evening!
