Touch trees.

Smell flowers.

Get outside.

This week my experiment is on the health benefits of nature.

While I live and work incredibly close to parks and forests, I can’t honestly say that I take advantage of them much. I can make all sorts of excuses as to why, but instead I want to see if I can see the benefits of interacting with nature more after a single week.

Health Benefits of Nature Day 2

Today, I went outside and played with my cat. I walked barefoot in grass for the first time in years.

I can’t say that my life was fundamentally changed, but that time I was walking barefoot in the grass might have been the calmest and most clear-headed I’ve been all day.

It didn’t last for long, and my life wasn’t fundamentally changed, but it was pleasant while it lasted. We’ll see if repeated exposure can help make that clarity last for longer!
