Well, waking up remains surprisingly easy for me, but the problem I’m finding lies not in waking up, but rather in when I get to bed.
I think that drinking the wine is enabling me to remain energetic in the evenings longer than I should be, so I’m staying up a bit later than I should. This effect isn’t dramatic in any single night, but is becoming cumulative over multiple nights.
So, ironically perhaps, the health benefits of white wine on sleep appear to be that I’m getting a better sleep and waking up more easily, but they come with the side effect that I’m less likely to go to sleep. This is definitely an unfortunate combination of effects so far.
Tonight I’m trying to consciously stop the process in its tracks, so this will be a shorter entry and an earlier bed time.
If you want to see a longer discussion, you can look at yesterday’s results in the experiment.
